Well they say you get what you pay for & unfortunately I found out the hard way I joined VampHost 3-4 months ago & was very happy with the service & uptime of my sites After trialing for 2 months I decided to finally move my forum accross to them BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! Members were happy, new faster forum, everything was fine until I received an email advising they were moving my sites to a new server due to the server currently being used belonging to another company or something Anyway, server move happened as planned but instead of 1-2 hrs my site was down for around 5-6, I had to email support 3 times to which finally they advised my I had a ref to php in my .htaccess which was not required on the new servers (Nice of them to tell me this in advance) anyway I edited this file & all was well, back up and running for about a week Then after a week, kept getting slow downs & page errors along with constant downtime. after the 3rd time in the same week I emailed support & they advised someone was using too many resources & that they have suspended their account, shouldn't happen again WRONG! Happened several times over the following weeks & then the big one, site was down for over 36 hrs, emailed support again & was told they had upgraded some software & had some unexpected http / apache errors, should be fixed soon (Was told this 3 times in that 36hrs period) then around 40hrs after sites went offline, everything came online again 1-2 days later I noticed a speed up on the servers as my forum was skimming through nicely & I noticed the new updated Cpanel, thought ok, lets see how this goes, that was only 2 weeks ago Since then my sites have been offline 3-4 times anywhere from 10 minutes to an hour, I'd email support & my sites would be back online before theyu respond with "Your sites appear to be online at this time" with no actual cause or reason Now to top it all off, my sites have again been down now, this time for just over 7 hrs & it is just a joke, especially for a provider who states 99% uptime, my sites are lucky to be up & running 60-70% every month & it's just appalling On that note I am off to search the many VPS deals around & look at spending a little more for a better service I received an initial response to my Sites down ticket 7 hrs ago asking me my account login details but have yet to see my sites come back online or hear back from support, strangly enough their Online Support is offline at the moment too when they are usaually always on around this time So after this I definately DO NOT RECCOMMEND VampHost
